Our learning intentions and focus have been revised!
Our general focus is still based around tobacco and connections between Australia and places around the world, but the individual focus you take will be up to you!
We have an iFocus (an Inquiry Focus) which is Tobacco - production, consumption and issues.

FRIDAY 1/8/14
Your first thinking about tobacco has been collated and represented as a word picture. They can be found on the resources page.
You have two parts to today's session;
PART A - View the word pictures of your thinking, the images of tobacco and tobacco related products/issues, the videos clips and sections of text (all found on the resources page).
Record some notes or dot points of your thoughts/ideas as you view these resources. This part of our session will be approx 10mins.
PART B - Questionstorming session.
We will have a Questionstorming time of 10 minutes . We will breakdown the Questionstorming process, rules and purpose before we begin.
RULES
1. Ask as many questions as you can
2. DO NOT STOP to discuss, answer or judge any questions.
3. Write down every question EXACTLY AS IT IS STATED - do not reword other people's questions.
4. Change any statement into a question.
Prior to starting this Questionstorming time, each group needs to elect one recorder. The recorder will write down all questions for the group in a pages document. These need to be sent to Mrs Barduca as a word doc. Include all group member names.
The questions you pose will be published on this site. From there, you will need to choose one of your own questions that will frame your inquiry.

Today we are going to use An Inquiry Planner to plan where we are heading with our Inquiry learning.
We will discuss this plan together to clarify what is expected.
Wednesday 13/8/14
Today you will use the inquiry planner (shown above) to plan out your inquiry investigation. You can download a copy from the resources page, or take a print version.
Your Learning Intentions;
-to select 3 questions to frame your inquiry, with ONE main focus question
-to set your goals for your inquiry investigation and
-to create a hypothesis/prediction about what you think you might find throughout the investigation process.

Friday 15/8/14
Learning Intentions;
- to finalise the selection of your top 3 Inquiry questions
- to select the one, main Inquiry question you intend to research.
- to set your goals for your inquiry
- to establish a hypothesis or make a prediction about where you think this learning will take you/what you expect to find out
**Remember - the purpose of your Inquiry questions is to promote thinking - not confirm what you already know or think you know about the iFocus!!!!
-Your questions offer you an opportunity to be confronted by your research; to make you question or be challenged by what you thought you knew about tobacco and the related issues.
-Through researching your question(s), you may also query and possibly change your opinion about tobacco
-The questions and research should be a 'battle for your brain' and introduce you to new perspectives and points of view to consider.
Your goals and what you hope to achieve are more than 'what can you make'. Whilst you will produce something as evidence of your learning, we are looking for more from you!
-How can what you produce as evidence of your learning make a difference in our world?
-How and who could actions you take affect?
-Who or what could your action have an impact on and
- Who or what may change as a result of what you share?
After researching an aspect of tobacco, we are looking to to see how your thinking has changed and how you intend to use this new knowledge in your world.
